Celebrating Mother’s Day – Sunday, May 11
This month, we take time to celebrate the incredible mothers and mother figures in our lives. Whether it’s a mom, stepmom, grandma, foster mom, auntie, or another loving caregiver—Mother’s Day is a chance to say thank you to those who nurture, teach, comfort, and cheer us on.
Here are some sweet ways little ones can show appreciation:
If you’re looking for a sweet and silly book to celebrate Mother’s Day...
If you’re looking for a sweet and silly book to celebrate Mother’s Day with little ones, My Mom by Anthony Browne is an absolute gem. This delightful picture book is a joyful love letter to moms, told through the eyes of a child who thinks their mom is nothing short of superhuman. She’s as strong as a gorilla, as clever as an owl, and as cuddly as a teddy bear! With its funny, over-the-top comparisons and whimsical illustrations, it’s the kind of book that sparks giggles and warm fuzzies all around. What really makes My Mom shine is how it captures the everyday magic of motherhood in a way kids totally get. It’s a great read-aloud pick that invites kids (and grown-ups!) to share stories about the awesome moms and mother-figures in their own lives.
To all the mothers in our Network community: **we see you, we appreciate you, and we celebrate you.💛

Why Accessible & Affordable Child Care Matters—And How Canada Is Taking Action
As a child care organization, we see every day how vital quality child care is—not just for little ones, but for families, communities, and the economy as a whole. When families have access to affordable, reliable child care, parents can pursue education or work opportunities, children get a strong start in life, and society benefits from a more inclusive, balanced workforce.
That’s why Network is a strong supporter of the Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care plan. This federal initiative is working with provinces and territories to lower child care fees for families and expand access to licensed care. The goal? $10-a-day child care on average—making high-quality early learning not just a luxury, but a realistic option for all families.
We’re already seeing the positive ripple effects. More parents—especially mothers—are returning to the workforce, and more children are benefiting from play-based learning environments that support their growth and development.
At Network, we believe every child deserves the best possible start, and every family deserves support in navigating those early years. We’re proud to be part of a system that’s moving toward greater affordability and accessibility, and we’ll keep doing our part to make child care in Canada something families can count on.
Spring is a reminder that growth happens in small, everyday moments—just like in childhood. Thank you for letting us be part of your children’s learning journey. And this Mother’s Day, may every caregiver feel the love and recognition they so richly deserve.
