Message From Our Executive Director (COVID-19)
TO OUR FAMILIES, OUR STAFF, OUR AFFILIATED HOME CHILD CARE PROVIDERS and OUR GREATER COMMUNITY
In its communication of Monday June 9th, 2020, the Ontario Ministry of Education has advised that there will be an extension of the emergency measures for licensed child care to Friday June 19th, 2020. Network Child Care Services is therefore obliged to keep its operations and programs closed until Friday June 19th, 2020. We came to this decision on the advice of the Federal Government, the Ontario Government, the Chief Public Health Officer of Canada, Dr. Theresa Tam, the Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David Williams, the Medical Officer of Health for the City of Toronto, Dr. Eileen de Villa, Medical Officers, the Ministries of Health and Education and Toronto Children’s Services.
We will follow the directives we receive from the authorities. All information concerning the resumption of our services will be posted on our website, which will be updated regularly.
In the meantime, we have set up the following portals for ease of access:
- FOR FAMILIES OF CHILDREN IN CARE
- FOR STAFF
- FOR AFFILIATED HOME CHILD CARE PROVIDERS
We take this opportunity to remind you that if you or a member of your family, are experiencing COVID-19/Coronavirus symptoms, or you would like to determine whether you should self-isolate or seek medical assistance, call Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000 or your local health unit for assistance and direction.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your cooperation, your patience and your understanding during these challenging and unprecedented times. We appreciate that our suspension of services is a major inconvenience to everyone, to say nothing of the associated hardships.
We want to assure you that we are doing everything we can to make the best-informed decisions and in the best interests of our children, our families, our staff, our affiliated home child care providers and our greater community. The safety of all is our top priority, and it is essential that we all do our part to curb the spread of COVID-19. Our community health must be of paramount importance.
Finally, our thoughts are with all those who have been directly affected by COVID-19. We wish them a speedy recovery.
We are all in this together. Let’s stay safe, and support each other, so that we get through these unprecedented times as best as possible. We will keep in touch.
In recognition of this rapidly evolving situation, Network Child Care Services remains committed to providing updates and up to date information as it becomes available.
